Dates for June Training and Tutor/Student Recognition Event Set

Hi Everyone!

You're the first to know! Here are the dates for the next new tutor training and the Tutor/Student Recognition Picnic. The picnic will be on June 12th starting at 1:30 here at the Palos Hills Campus. That's a Friday. We have half-day Fridays in the summer, so we'll pretty much have the campus to ourselves. The picnic will be held in the area with our umbrella/picnic tables. I'll send out a map and further details as we get closer to the date. Everyone will be welcome to attend, including families!

June 2nd and 9th from 9-3 will be when the new in-person tutor training will be held. I'll be letting everyone who expressed an interest in the in-person training know the dates this week. If you know anyone who might be interested in attending the training, ask them to complete the online application on our web page, http://www.morainevalley.edu/Literacy/literacy_program_application_form.htm , and I will get back to them as soon as I can.

The Secretary of State sends out an online newsletter every month. If you ignore the grant reporting stuff, they have some very interesting resources listed. I will be on vacation from May 10th until the 18th. I'll be working on matches this week, so if you are waiting I will contact you before Friday.
